Having compared many reactions to the standard hydrogen potential, we can now make a table of reduction potentials for all half-reactions, (or oxidation potentials but we need to pick one and stick to it). Below is an abbreviated table showing several half-reactions and their associated standard potentials. Reduction Potentials The standard half cell potentials of many molecules and ions have been measured with with the standard hydrogen half cell. These are typically recorded in tables of standard reduction potentials. For an oxidation half reaction, the oxidation potential is mutiplied by -1 to go to the reduction potential.

The alignment between carbon and cost is clear, with the greatest potential for reduction existing at the earliest project stages. It can be used to prioritise carbon reduction measures within a fixed budget Values are for illustrative purposes. The battery has the potential for very high gravimetric energy density - that is, for Li batteries owing to its low reduction potential and high specific capacity. Table 1. Reduction potential (also known as redox potential, oxidation/reduction potential, or E h) measures the tendency of a chemical species to acquire electrons and thereby be reduced. Reduction potential is measured in volts (V) or millivolts (mV). Each species has its own intrinsic reduction potential.

This video looks at the activity series (ease of oxidation of metals) & the Reduction Potential table of half-reactions determined against the hydrogen elect The standard reduction potential is +.34 volts. This is equal to +.34 volts. We know in a redox reaction something is reduced and something is oxidized, and since we already have our reduction half-reaction, we need an oxidation half-reaction. For example, lithium has a reduction potential of - 3.05 V. Lithium is a very active metal and is very easily oxidized to lithium ion.
